Hold out your hand. We’re going to give you the keys! The keys to unlocking the very best of Melbourne, the stylish city of the South. An Australian gem. It’s our little gift to you. Take in the fashion districts, the street cafes, oh, smell that freshly brewed coffee enticing you in — marvel at the quirky flair of the art district and the trendy bars. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? 

It’s these feelings, those smells, the finding of a special little place that makes travel so enriching, so rewarding. So here, take the Melbourne keys and unlock the attractions that bring you nothing but travel gold.

 

Great Ocean Road:

It’s no exaggeration to say that this route is the greatest in Australia, well the most famous at the very least. The views along the 400 km coastline are spectacular, rolling waves hitting the shoreline, not forgetting the 12 Apostles to view. Exploring the city is enriching, heading out on the open road, well that’s the way to go?

 

Hop-on Hop-off:

A Melbourne hop-on hop-off tour should be an essential part of any visit. Jump on the bus, sit back and get to know your surroundings. Then as you have unlimited trips for 24 or 48 hours and once you’ve picked out those key attractions you want to see jump aboard once more and head back to explore.

 

Phillip Island:

Want to watch a penguin parade? Sounds cute, right? Visit Phillip Island, and you’ll get that pleasure of watching the waddling wonders plus lots more natural delights. You’ll encounter Kangaroos, Koala’s, Wombats, to name a few! The island also has an award-winning beach to stroll long. It’s not all about the city.

 

Yarra Valley:

Wine, well it’s as much a part of the culture here as it is in France or Spain. Any wine-producing region for that matter. A trip to Yarra Valley will ensure you get to try the wine as well as the opportunity to take hot-air balloon rides, try cheese, even indulge in gourmet cooking. It just makes sense when you visit the region. It’ll undoubtedly make your Melbourne trip that little more special.

 

Eureka Skydeck:

Here’s one for those with a head for heights! Catch the view from 297m up! It takes about 45 seconds to reach the Skydeck! From there it’s time let your head catch up with your body and enjoy the views. Visit during the day or in the evening twilight. Expect to spend time gazing out at the world go about its business.

 

Best of the Rest:

It’s a bit harsh to say that really, but with so many places to discover, we’ll have ended up writing a book. Here’s two more! Puffing Billy is one for the train fans. Mornington Penninsula is for those that like to relax, visit the hot springs and taste the strawberries. That’s from November to April, if you’re wondering when it’s best to visit.

 

There are the keys, take them and make sure you unlock the best of Melbourne. It’s a vibrant, stylish place that’ll surely grab you and draw you in.
